The Carolinas, USA
In North and South Carolina, this is a beautifal area with national sites of the American Revolution and Civil War, together with the National Parks of Great Smokey Mountain and Congaree.  The Blue Ridge Parkway is "America's Favorite Drive", as it winds through the Appalachian Mountains.  This itinerary will start and finish at Charlotte, North Carolina.

Texas, USA
Big Bend National Park and Guadalupe Mountains National Park are quite exceptional areas of mountain beauty, with plenty to see and do.  In between, Fort Davis National Historic Site takes a step back into fort life of the 1850s to 1890s.  The Rio Grande has dramatic canyons away from the crowds.  This itinerary will start and finish at Fort Worth.

Yorkshire Dales, UK
An area of outstanding beauty, with picture postcard villages built from the local stone, nestling in the hills.  This was the place which inspired the Calendar Girls, and where much of the film was shot.  It is a place of tranquil beauty, but with dramatic waterfalls and castles.  Discover each of the dales, with their dry-stone walls and interesting history.  James Herriot loved the area and has inspired many to follow him.

Other British National Parks
More itineraries are being researched and written:
the Brecon Beacons in Wales, and the North York Moors in England.
